Antique China and Glass Jewelry Stands

This is how it happens.

I do one craft . . . in this case, the cake stands.

Then the idea starts to evolve.

And the next thing I know . . .

I find myself at garage sales, antique malls, and flea markets looking for odds and ends china and glass pieces to help make my vision reality. And before I know it . .

. . . what started out as a cake stand . . .

. . . has morphed into a jewelry stand . . .

And all it took was my handy-dandy tube of 100% silicone glue. Lock up your china girls. It's not safe around me.

And then just for fun I made a compote and candy dish . . .

  2. Thanks Bronwyn. I have a friend who makes art cars and he uses the glue to adhere things onto his cars. His testing methods involve leaving the cars outside in the Ohio weather all the time. So he has convinced me that this glue will hold up through anything!

  8. Peg these are so cute! Is there a certain brand of silicone glue you prefer? I've wanted to put some pieces to make lamps and serving pieces but wasn't sure what adhesive to use. You are so creative. I definitely understand on getting hooked on another craft obsession; its how I started making my own jewelry! lol

    1. Hey Barbe, I've been using GE Premium Silicone Glue. It's clear so it is not as visible. A friend of mine uses it to glue things to his art cars, so I know it stands up to weather. Not that my cake plates are seeing much of the outdoors, but you never know. Good luck! Let me know how they turn out!
